WTTC grants Safe Travels stamp on Dubai
Dubai has been granted the WTTC Safe Travels stamp. This specially designed stamp will allow travellers to recognise governments and businesses around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardised protocols so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.
The move by WTTC, has also received the backing of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Eligible businesses such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, restaurants, outdoor shopping, transportation and airports, will be able to use the stamp once the health and hygiene protocols, outlined by WTTC, have been implemented.
This action can now be applied to destinations whose health and safety protocols are aligned with the WTTC’s, resulting in the attached awareness piece as an example. The process for a destination is to make our documentation available for the COVID-19 H&S protocols for reopening to international travellers.
His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), said, “As we reopen Dubai’s doors to tourism and welcome our international visitors back to the city, our foremost priority is their wellbeing, achieved through stringent hygiene and safety protocols that have been deployed across all tourist touchpoints. The WTTC's Safe Travels stamp endorses Dubai’s strong global cooperation in combating the pandemic with comprehensive and effective measures to ensure guest health and safety. We trust that our efforts not only provide an optimised experience for our visitors, but also secure their health and that of their families, further cementing the confidence that our guests have had thus far in Dubai, and encouraging people from every corner of the world to visit one of the safest cities in the world this summer.”
