Sustainability in Exhibitions Industry

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry has published a new report that analyses sustainability in exhibition industry. Results from survey conducted by UFI’s partner Explori is included in the report. According to the research, for 86 percent of exhibitors and 87 percent of visitors, travelling to an exhibition saves time, while for 84 percent of exhibitors and 83 percent of visitors, exhibitions help save money. For 67 percent of exhibitors and 64 percent of visitors, exhibitions provide a platform to do multiple things under one roof as they needn’t travel to various locations, which also helps reduce carbon footprints.

The research further reveals that the exhibition industry’s transition towards sustainability has progressed to halfway between “only starting” and “very advanced”. Some key findings in the report include about the expectations from exhibition participants during pre-Covid days, how Covid is affecting the industry prospects, and in terms of environmental impact, what are the priorities and how they can be achieved. The full report can be accessed at www.ufi.org/research.
