SDSC Exhibitions Celebrate World Space Week

The Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota celebrated the World Space Week in India across eight venues in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Odisha from October 4-10, 2022.
The World Space Week, a flagship event of the World Space Week Association, is celebrated every year across the globe between October 4-10, to educate space enthusiasts on the usage of space technology for the betterment of human lives. Years ago on October 4, 1957 became a historic day when the first ever artificial satellite Sputnik 1 was launched while October 10, 1967 assumed significance as a day when the treaty on principles governing exploration and peaceful uses of outer space including moon and celestial bodies was signed. Space technology enthusiasts witnessed Sounding Rocket launches at Sriharikota. Students took part in written quiz, drawing, design related assignments and so on. Other attractions included Walk for Space Week, lectures, and interactions with senior ISRO scientists and online competitions.
