PMRDA to Prepare a Report on PIECC
Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated the process of preparing a detailed project report for the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre (PIECC) proposed to be set up in an area of around 120 acres at Moshi. The proposed exhibition centre is likely to have an open exhibition area, three exhibition halls, a convention centre, star hotels, museum, fire station, VIP lounge, parking area, metro station, and star hotels.
Initially the Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority was given the contract. However, it was dissolved and the Maharashtra government handed it over to PMRDA. A PMRDA spokesperson said that the construction of compound wall for 94.87 hectare and leveling of 11 hectare was complete. Once the leveling work is completed the area would be ready for open air exhibitions.
