Piyush Goyal Welcomes All to See India’s Growth at Dubai Expo

Inaugurating the India Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 in Dubai recently Shri Piyush Goel, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India said that a resurgent India would be a frontrunner in the revival process post-pandemic when the world is coming together to bring growth back on track.

India is showcasing its vibrant culture and the diverse partnership opportunities it is capable of offering at the expo. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “The reforms unleashed in the last seven years by the government under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and especially during the Covid period, are set to boost the country’s manufacturing and exports potential and make India a global economic hub, besides strengthening its capabilities in the technology space. India is already a leading player in the global markets in IT, Pharma and space technology, and with the development of research and innovation capabilities, the country’s prowess in these areas would help reap the benefits of new-age technologies like artificial intelligence and robotics.”

He added that India has sufficient scientific and entrepreneurial research and development capabilities and the lessons learnt from the Covid crisis has further emboldened the country’s spirits of meeting any challenges in future. The minister also congratulated UAE for organizing such a large-scale international expo which will augur well for both India which is celebrating 75 years of independence and UAE which is celebrating 50th year of its foundation. 
UAE is also the 8th largest investor in India, having invested US$ 11 billion between April 2000 and March 2021. India aspires to make significant progress in catalyzing the investments from UAE to India across the focus sectors, including Gems & Jewellery, Textiles, Pharma, and IT.
