Nehru Science Centre at Forefront in Battling Covid
Located in Worli, Mumbai, the β14 exhibitions hallβ, Nehru Science Centre had functioned as a Covid care centre during last yearβs pandemic outbreak. With the onset of the second wave and surge in daily cases, the Maharashtra government has restarted several Covid facilities that were dismantled and stopped functioning after the first wave.
The Nehru Science Centre was handed over to the Centre in November 2020 but with the recent rise in cases, the state government has once again occupied a portion of it for Covid patients.
India which has been badly hit by the second wave of coronavirus is struggling with economy and job losses. Most exhibitions are being rescheduled and it is extremely important that the pandemic is brought under control fully which alone will pave way for restart of exhibitions. As the pandemic is unpredictable and is almost impossible to trace its trajectory, it is advisable to keep the Covid care centres functioning for a reasonable amount of time.
