Moscow City Tourism Committee Debuts in India for Weddings Segment
Moscow City Tourism Committee (MCTC) hosted the first-ever roadshow in India in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. As the capital of Russia, Moscow has decided that India is one of its most important markets, especially for weddings and events.
The goal of the MCTC was to show that there are numerous locations and quality hotels available for hosting Indian weddings, and to inform Indian tourists about new-age changes in the city. The Committee will curate promotional material and brochures to educate the travel trade and wedding planners in India about the infrastructure available for hosting weddings in Moscow. It will also launch a B2B portal that will provide all information at the click of a button.
There are currently direct flights from New Delhi to Moscow, as well as one-stop services from Mumbai. In line with this, the Committee wishes to increase tourist traffic and to work with airlines to improve connections, as air access is a critical factor. One of the key aspects of the committeeβs participation in roadshows, exhibitions, and familiarization trips is to demonstrate that Moscow is safe, and that the city continues to live life normally, despite the current situations.
Furthermore, in June, MCTC established a division to provide subsidies to entities hosting business events in Moscow. Starting next year, this can help Indian companies. They can get a subsidy of up to ten million rubles to host a two-day incentive program.
