MedTech in Focus at India Pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai
Medical technology is considered as a sunrise sector in India with immense potential to cater to the needs of people across the world. On January 29, 2022, during the Health & Wellness Week, which happened as part of the India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, a panel discussion on โR&D and Innovation in Medical Device Sectorโ was held.
Eminent delegates from the government and medical industry lauded the contributions by India and spoke about the investment opportunities in R&D and innovation in the medical sector.
Participating as a speaker virtually, S Aparna, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, said, โThe Medical Devices sector is a sunrise sector on a growth trajectory and has a huge potential to cater to the growing needs across the world. The sector has the capacity to bring together Indiaโs strengths in both manufacturing and the IT industries to develop innovative products, offer medical devices and equipment with the latest technology and high-quality solutions that are affordable not only in India but globally.โ
