‘Make Events’ launches initiative for ‘forgotten furloughers’

Make Events, an experience and brand communications company, the UK, has launched its new morale-boosting initiative for members of the events industry.

The new initiative, ‘Table Talks’, aims to virtually bringing together the events community who have been furloughed, been made redundant or are feeling lost and require structure during the crisis.

The first session will provide an opportunity to share experiences and learn from others within the events industry. Virtual attendees will be encouraged to make a coffee and participate by being open with other industry peers.

Holly Moore, founder and CEO, Make Events, said, “This initiative has been designed in order to inspire a sense of community whilst driving purpose to those who currently need it during these tough times and generating as much of a positive experience through this tough time, as possible.”

Moore added that despite furloughing members of her team, Make Events has put in place support and training to highlight how eventprofs are still valued.

She continued, “There is a lot of rhetoric out there about furloughed employees’ mental health and the impact that Covid-19 has had on it. It is so important now, more than ever, that we rally together and keep the dialogue open for everyone to share and discuss their experiences as well as lend support to those who may need it.”
