Khadi Exhibition Inaugurated in Varanasi
Honβble Minister of State for MSME, Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, unfurled a 15-day state-of-the-art Khadi exhibition in Varanasi lately. Organized by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), exhibitors are displaying exquisite, handcrafted products from as many as 20 Indian states.
In total, 105 stalls have been set up by Khadi institutions from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Leh-Ladakh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, West Bengal and so on. PMEGP units and several SFURTI clusters from various states have also set up their stalls.
Exhibitors are displaying a wide range of exquisite Khadi products such as high altitude honey from Jammu & Kashmir, woolen shawls from Kashmir and Rajasthan, muslin fabric from West Bengal, silk from West Bengal, Bihar, koti shawls from Punjab, leather products from Kanpur, terracotta pottery from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, and hand-knotted carpets from Mirzapur and Prayagraj.
The Minister lauded KVIC for organizing the Khadi exhibition and Khadi kareegar Sammelan which will help strengthening the role of artisans.
