Ms. Swati Pandey, is an Indian Postal Service officer of 1997batch. Presently, she is the Postmaster General of Mumbai Region, having the administrative control of the 229 post offices in Mumbai

She is a Master of Science from, Universty of Pune, MBA in Rural marketing, having proficiency in administration and broad base interface communication with both Government and corporate agencies. At the initial stage of her career, she has served the naxalite areas of Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts of Maharashtra for more than three years undergoing tremendous hardships and risk to life.

In the year 2011, Ms. Swati Pandey joined the Department of Atomic Energy  (DAE) on central deputation. During her tenure of five years,  she was entrusted with additional charge of CVO (Chief Vigilance Officer),Nuclear Power Corporation of India. In 2016, as head of POMC ( Public Outreach Management Cell), she became the only officer on deputation in the history of DAE to be awarded with Homi Bhabha medal for Special Contribution to the Department of Atomic Energy.

In the year 2016, she joined Films Division (FD), under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on deputation. She ensured the completion of the National Museum of Indian Cinema. Under her leadership, Films Division won 4 National Awards in Indian Cinema in 2017-18. She held the additional charge of Chief Executive officer of Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI). 

Apart from being a career bureaucrat, she is also an avid reader and film maker. She has debuted in the film world by directing the documentary film “Elephants Do Remember”, last year, that has been felicitated in many national and international film festivals. Presently she is working on a film based on India Post to be released later this year.
