The former President and CEO Informa Markets in Asia, Jimé Essink, is to join the Board of the specialist exhibition and conference industry consultancy, jwc. He will take the charge of Germany-based team as of June 1, 2020.

He has the credit of working for nearly 30 years in leading B2B media businesses in emerging and developed markets throughout Asia, South America and Europe, and have held positions like CEO of VNU Exhibitions Europe and President of VNU Exhibitions Asia.

He was also appointed as the CEO of UBM Asia in November 2007 where he was responsible for the transition of the company to become the leading exhibition organiser in Asia. After the merger of UBM with Informa in 2018, he led the integration of the operations and became President of the combined business before retiring from Informa at the end of 2019.

In his new role at jwc, Essink will be responsible for supporting jwc’s clients in the areas of growth strategy, product development, M&A and divestures, strategic partnerships and organisation.
