International MSME Spotlights Growth of MSMEs
In a significant development for the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha inaugurated the 9th India International MSME Expo and Summit 2023 in New Delhi. The Expo took place from August 10-12, 2023 and aimed to spotlight the government's efforts to boost MSME growth.
The Expo hosted various stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, industry experts, and policymakers, fostering potential investors to invest in Jammu and Kashmir. Representatives of 72 sectors such as info security, aviation, IT, engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and others attended the event. The event also featured the increasing role of technology in transforming MSMEs, making them globally competitive.
Recognizing the need for socio-economic change for women entrepreneurs, the Lt Governor highlighted the establishment of 74,000 SMEs run by women in J&K. He also launched the One District One Product (ODOD) Box of J&K and highlighted the importance of skilling in youth.
