India’s Thriving MICE Tourism Sector Poised for Global Growth

India’s MICE tourism is booming, boosting the tourism industry. India ranks 26th in the US$ 280 billion worldwide conference sector, according to the International Congress and Conference Association (ICCA).

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) reports that India’s MICE industry is crucial to business travel and tourism, growing 11.4 percent annually, the highest among the top 15 global markets. KPMG expects India’s US$ 30 billion corporate travel industry to treble by 2030.

According to Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, conference tourism has great potential for India, noting conference attendees’ large spending.

The recently opened ‘Yashobhoomi’ Convention Centre is anticipated to improve India’s MICE business. ‘Yashobhoomi’ makes India a leading conference and exposition destination with its large built-up area and world-class facilities. MICE events are becoming increasingly popular in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Goa, and Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are all promising MICE tourism destinations. India is primed to capitalize on the MICE boom and grow globally.
