Indiaβs Logistics & Warehousing growth hubs rise in tier 2 cities
India's logistics and warehousing sector is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by supportive government policies, infrastructure enhancements, technological innovations, and changing consumer behavior.
While tier 1 cities continue to be central hubs, the sector is experiencing significant growth in 12 emerging tier 2-3 cities, spurred by a consumption surge, with a growing share of online purchases now originating from these regions. Government initiatives, such as the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund, which allocates Rs 10,000 crore annually for the improvement of 459 tier 2 and 580 tier 3 cities, are further propelling this expansion. Policies like Vision 2047, which aims to position India as a $30 trillion economy, also play a vital role in fostering this progress.
This growth highlights the essential role of logistics in driving seamless supply chains, improving regional connectivity, and supporting sustainable economic development.
