India will be hosting the prestigious International Olympic Committee (IOC) meeting for the first time since 1983 and perhaps usher in a new era of engagement between the youth in India and the Olympic movement. The session scheduled for 2023 will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
Responding to Indiaβs winning bid to host International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in 2023, Nita Ambani, Chairperson & Founder, Reliance Foundation, Dhirubhai Ambani International School and Director, Reliance Industries said this win is a significant development and a matter of great pride and joy. Ambani, also a member of the IOC reaffirmed her long-standing commitment towards enabling India to host the Youth Olympic Games as well as the Olympic Games in future.
In an interesting development Mumbai got a record 99 percent votes favouring its bid from the delegates with 75 members endorsing the city to host the IOC Session in 2023.
