India Carpet Expo Unveiled
The 42nd edition of the India Carpet Expo organized by the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) under the aegis of Government of India from March 25-28, 2022 at NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla in New Delhi set a new trend for the burgeoning carpet industry in India. Commending the organizer of the show on the preparations, Shri Upendra Prasad Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles said that the flagship event was a one-stop destination for handmade carpets serving the needs of buyers and users of handcrafted carpets and floor coverings.
The mega expo received an encouraging response with close to 200 overseas buyers. International carpet buyers, buying houses, buying agents, architects and Indian carpet manufacturers and exporters thronged the event to meet and establish long-term business relationships.
An added attraction of the show was the presence of first generation women entrepreneurs revealing the entry of females in the carpet manufacturing business which hitherto was a male bastion.
