Government to Extend IFLADP Scheme till FY26
The union Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India has proposed extending the Indian Footwear Leather and Accessories Development Programme (IFLADP) scheme with an outlay of INR1,700 crore from 2021-22 to 2025-26. According to government sources, the Union Cabinet is likely to give the go ahead soon as the Ministry of Finance has already approved the proposal by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
The programme has six components β Sustainable Technology and Environmental Promotion (proposed outlay INR500 crore); Integrated Development of Leather Sector (proposed outlay INR500 crore); Establishment of Institutional Facilities (INR200 crore); Mega Leather Footwear and Accessories Cluster Development
(INR300 crore); Brand Promotion of Indian Brands in Leather and Footwear Sector
(INR100 crore); and Development of Design Studios (INR100 crore).
