CITI calls for strategic schemes to propel Indian textile & apparel exports to USD 100 by 2030

India aims for an ambitious export target of USD 100 billion by 2030, with key markets like the USA and the EU playing pivotal roles. Rakesh Mehra, Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), highlighted that the US accounts for about 27% of India’s T&A exports, with a 3.3% CAGR over the last five years. To meet the USD 100 billion target, exports to the USA would need to grow at a CAGR of 16%. CITI has called for targeted government initiatives to boost investment and growth in the Textile and Apparel sector, including capitalizing on new US policies and extending policy support to enhance competitiveness.
