Circular for Coronavirus I Date: 4th February 2020
Further to the earlier email regarding travel advisory by Govt of India on coronavirus, the Executive Committee of IEIA hereby urges the industry colleagues and members of IEIA to stick together in this special hour of need. All stakeholders including Venues, Service Providers, Freight forwarders and Organisers are requested to offer flexibility in terms of any schedule changes etc required due to the coronavirus issue. Also urge all to follow the guidelines issued by Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Health, Govt of India (https://mohfw.gov.in/diseasealerts/novel-corona-virus) related to prevention and control of coronavirus as per details below:
- The Govt of India has issued the latest advisory on the subject on Feb 02, 2020 which warns against travel to China, further stating that anyone with a travel history of China since January 15, 2020 could be quarantined. A state health emergency has been declared by the State Govt of Kerala where 3 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.
- E-visa facilities to Chinese passports have been temporarily suspended and e-visas already issued are invalid, whereas online application facility for physical visa has also been suspended.
- Organisers and Venues are advised to be in regular connect with District Surveillance Officer (Health) or Deputy CMO/CMO of their regions.
- Additionally, you may also seek any medical assistance/guidance for any person/traveller from China having symptoms of coronavirus by contacting at the helpline number set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India in this regard:

We are also writing separately to all the major venues hosting international exhibitions and also to the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) and Hotels Association of India (HAI) to support the organisers and stakeholders in this hour of crisis.
