Blue and White Diamond Fair in Israel
With Israel becoming one of the first countries in the world to remove all coronavirus related restrictions, exhibition community has a lot to cheer. Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) celebrated this by holding the first Blue and White Diamond Fair after the outbreak of the pandemic.
The trade fair garnered enthusiastic response with dozens of local exhibitors and hundreds of traders participating, signaling a return to normalcy for Israelโs diamond industry. In recent months, Israelโs diamond industry had been flourishing, reporting double and triple digit growths in all trading categories. Industry leaders such as TACHE, Lili Diamonds, S. Schnitzer and Andre Messika took part in the event.
Data from recent months (March, April, May 2021) show that net rough diamond imports to Israel increased 112 percent over the same period in 2020 to $ 594 million. Net exports of rough diamonds increased by 116 percent over the same period in 2020 and stood at $ 522 million.Net imports of polished diamonds increased by 96% over the same period in 2020 and stood at $ 855 million. Net polished diamond exports increased by 30.5% compared to the same period in 2020 and stood at $ 1.15 billion.
