38th India International Jewellery Show Concludes at BEC Mumbai
Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the apex body of the Indian gem and jewelry trade, successfully concluded its flagship show India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2022, from August 4-8, at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The show was inaugurated by Smt. Hema Malini, Member of Parliament; Colin Shah, Chairman, GJEPC; Vipul Shah, Vice Chairman, GJEPC; Shailesh Sangani, Convener, National Exhibitions, GJEPC; and Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC. The event drew 37,000 trade visitors, including 1,200 overseas visitors from 800+ Indian cities and 80+ countries.
In addition, SOLITAIRE INTERNATIONAL Magazine’s latest August 2022 issue was also released at the event. Gold & Gold CZ Studded Jewelry; Diamond, Gemstone & Other Studded Jewelry; Loose Stones, CVD; Silver Jewelry, Artifacts & Gifting Items; Laboratories & Education; and Machinery & Allied were among the show’s various product sections.
Honored to inaugurate IIJS, Smt Malini said that the diamond industry is excelling and initiatives like this will boost the Prime Minister’s goal to achieve ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. In this context, Shah quipped that IIJS Premiere continues to set higher benchmarks each year and is now listed under the MSME scheme. MSME exhibitors can now apply for a grant against their participation at the show.
IIJS, along with IJEX in Dubai and the International Gem & Jewellery show in Dubai later this year, will give the required impetus to achieve the US$45.7 billion G&J export target set by the Government.
