Mr. S. Balasubramanian, COO & Executive Director, IMTMA takes over the reins of IEIA as President
December 18, 2019: The 13th edition of the Annual General Meeting of the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) was held on December, 16, 2019 at the Mirador Hotel, Mumbai. The event took off with the welcome address by Mr. Ravinder Sethi, Vice President (2017-19) who presided over the AGM and initiated the proceedings in the absence of Mr. KV Nagendra Prasad, the outgoing President of IEIA.
Mr. Sethi also presented the annual report on activities conducted by IEIA during the year gone by. In his report, he stated that the entire Executive Committee had worked with a lot of dedication under the leadership of Mr. KV Nagendra Prasad.
Mr. Sudeep Sarcar, Honorary Treasurer, presented the Financial Report of the association for FY 2018-19. In his report, he stated the association had made good profit vis-Γ -vis various initiatives conducted during the year. The year witnessed increase in revenues from membership enrolments and sponsorships from the events conducted by IEIA.
A special felicitation of Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH and Chairman, India Expo Mart was also done by the Executive Committee members during the AGM for his long standing contribution towards IEIA being one of the founder members and Immediate Past President for 2 consecutive terms.
The day was also marked by elections for the Executive Committee positions, for electing the office bearers for the term 2019-2021 and the results of the elections were declared immediately thereafter.
Mr. S. Balasubramanian, COO & Executive Director, IMTMA was elected as the President, while Mr. Sudeep Sarcar, CEO, India Expo Mart was elected as Vice President; Mr. Bhupinder Singh, CEO, Messe Muenchen India as Honorary Secretary; Mr. Gaurav Juneja, Director, MEX Exhibitions as Honorary Treasurer for the term 2019-2021. Other members of the EC included Ex Officio Past President Mr. K.V. Nagendra Prasad, COO HITEX, and Executive Committee Members- Mr. Ravinder Sethi, MD, RE Rogers; Ms. Sonia Prashar, CMD, NuernbergMesse India; Mr. Yogesh Mudras, MD, Informa Markets India; Mr. Dharampal Singh, Executive Director, Namdhari Events & Promotions and Mr. Mr.Sooraj Dhawan, Director, Falcon Exhibitions. Mr. Ravinder Sethi was also bestowed a special designation as International Ambassador of IEIA by the new Executive Committee.
Mr. S. Balasubramanian, who was elected as President of IEIA for the term 2019-21, said, βWith great humility and happiness, I thank the Executive Committee members for placing their trust in me and giving me this opportunity to take up the mantle. I am aware that I have a large shoe to fit in to but I see this possible with your cooperation and support. We will work together as a team and scale greater heights in developing the Indian exhibition industry.β
All the members present applauded the newly formed Executive Committee. The 13th Annual General Meeting ended on a positive note with a vote of thanks to the Chair and photo session of the new committee.
